9 summertime spots to keep making summer memories!

As September draws near, make the most of these final summer months, creating memories and capturing them in happy, sun-drenched photoshoots at home or abroad. We’ve created a list of nine ways you can keep making summer memories and provide some great photoshoot ideas as well.

Go to a local fair or carnival

Most of us remember the fun, lights, and flavors of the local fairs and carnival we enjoyed as kids. We couldn’t wait for the rides, food, animals, and games. Fairs and carnivals should be shared with new kids and revisited through life to keep the kid in each of us smiling.

Fairs and carnivals are iconic summer settings and great for nighttime photoshoots. Throw darts, ride the Ferris Wheel, hold hands and share a funnel cake. Our local photographers will be your personal photographer capturing all the fun summer memories.

Road trip

Another summer staple is the road trip. Windows rolled down favorite music and snacks, and wide-open vistas. Who doesn’t fantasize about the summer road trip the rest of the year? And whether it takes you near or far, it delivers a much-needed sense of freedom and adventure.

Road trip photoshoots are versatile and unique! With our local photographers, you can schedule one on the way or at your destination. You can do cool shots with the car, out in nature, in a cityscape, whatever summer vision you have!

Spend the day by the water

This could be the beach, the river, or your own backyard pool! Water and summer are synonymous with each other and there’s no right or wrong way to bring the two together. Choose what’s right for you, put on your suit, grab blankets or sand pails, and enjoy a summer day by the water.

Photoshoots by the water are great opportunities to capture everything from action shots (think: cannonballs into the pool and rope swings over the river) to tender moments (strolls along the beach at sunset and family gatherings against a backdrop of sunshine and water.)

Hang out at the park

We don’t spend enough time at our local parks which are havens of nature and relaxation. They are the perfect place to bring a picnic, book, blanket, the kids, and dog for an easy and affordable day out. This is especially true in the summer!

For a fun photoshoot at the local park dress up or bring props, like that chocolate cake you’ve been wanting to try from the local bakery, a pitcher of lemonade and a colorful picnic blanket, or a big sun umbrella. Let the kids climb trees and do cartwheels, throw the frisbee for the dog, and run barefoot through the grass. Our photographers will capture it all!

Explore town

This could be your own hometown, the town a few miles over, or the big city an hour away. Once you’re in a “vacation state of mind” any destination is ripe for exploration. Walk down your own main street and experience new sights, sounds, and flavors. Or finally, make time to venture to a neighboring town and see what they have going on.

Our photographers will help you see your own city in a new light or show you around a new city. Make the most of a day out with their local knowledge. You’ll have a new experience and get great summer photographs to go with it.

Farmers markets, fruit stands & orchards

Nothing tastes quite like summer like fresh fruit and vegetables, pies and caramel apples, peaches from the orchards, and strawberries from the fields. At your local farmers’ markets, fruit stands, and family-run orchards you can savor the season’s unique flavors and bring summer colors home to your own kitchen.

These community spots make perfect summer backdrops, with seasonal activity, colors, and textures. Couples can walk hand and hand, while kids will love picking their own fruit and running in the fresh air. These will be pics you’ll be sending out with homemade chutneys and jams come the winter holidays!

Backyard barbecues, water fights & campouts

Summer is sometimes best close to home. If you have the outdoor space, make the most of it. Indulge in a few more barbecues, get-togethers, maybe even a backyard campout. With the right friends and family, cool treats, and grilled foods, a yard doesn’t have to be large to enjoy the lazy days of summer.

Backyard photoshoots capture a time in our lives that we want to remember, always. Water fights, flag football, fire pits, and tables heavy with good food and love. Enjoy your time while our photographers save the memories.

Antique shopping or flea market hunting

The sun is out, you have free time, and you’re in search of a treasure! Summer is the perfect time for rummaging through antique shops and flea markets in search of that particular item you’ve been dreaming of, or the special something you didn’t know you needed!

The colorful jumble of antique shops and variety of flea markets can make fun, unique backdrops for a summer photoshoot. Dress up to stand out to make your own memories in a setting steeped in memories.

Meet up with friends

The warmth and good weather of summer give us the opportunity and motivation to meet up with friends, whether for outside dinners on the patio, walks through the town center, a drink at a winery or cafe, or a hike in nature. If you haven’t already, get in touch with friends and plan a summer day out.

Wherever you go, don’t miss the opportunity to capture these special times with a hassle-free, personal photoshoot. It may seem like just a regular get-together, but it will be one you’ll think back on and wish you could relive years from now. With our photos, you can!
