The cap and gown, the balloons and ceremonies (whether in-person or virtual), are all here to mark and commemorate the completion of this great endeavor and chapter of your life. And for all of you graduating this year, you are celebrating a moment of significant personal history in an exceptional historical time. Over the past weeks, you have persevered, finishing classes and exams in what may have been the most challenging school term of your entire academic career. You’ve proven to yourselves that with innovation, determination, and support, nothing can stop you!
And as you prepare to leave the familiar teachers, staff, mascots, and halls (or Zoom “classrooms”!) of your schools, remember that graduation is not just about completing something great, it’s also about great beginnings!

Whatever you choose to do next, you’ve leveled up and are striking out on a new path and into the next chapter of your lives. And though none of us would have wished for a pandemic, if ever there was a time to trailblaze into the world, what better time than a moment in history underscored by a renewed sense of community, hope, and promises of the future.
Though celebrations might look different this year, they are no less heartfelt. In fact, because of where we find ourselves at this moment in time, the good wishes and cheers sent to you, Graduates of 2020, are even more heartfelt and profound.
