Looking ahead to 2021
Where to start with the reasons to look forward to the new year?! There are so many on both personal and professional levels for all of us here at Shoot My Travel. And for you too, no doubt!
Last week we looked back at 2020 and acknowledged the accomplishments and blessings we encountered despite the most challenging times we had faced yet. Now, as we look forward to 2021 we’d like to share with you what we’re especially anticipating and invite you to be a part of it!
As a company
A new year is always about growth and companies are no different. To stay the same is to stay stagnant. Companies are living, breathing things, like the people who make them up. And just as every person should push themselves to be better and dream bigger, so should a company. As we mentioned in our recent “Looking back” blog post, we’ve been cooking up some exciting new technological advancements that we’ll be unveiling soon. Suffice to say that they will take your entire experience with us to a new level.
Our goal in 2021 is to take the best that we have been and expand. In the years that we have been serving our clients and photographing their travels and lives, we feel like that metaphorical butterfly that emerged from the formative chrysalis and stood on a green leaf. Now we’re unfurling our multicolor wings of diversity, creativity and innovation and are ready to take off. We look forward to taking you with us to new heights!
As a team
After you’ve been through something like 2020 with a group of people, a bond takes place. You have lived through something together that you didn’t share in the same way with anyone else. Sometimes it can even be hard to move on.
But move forward we must and we will. And we all deserve to! But as we do so, we will not leave behind the bonds of friendship and camaraderie that we built this year. As we move into 2021 as a team we will keep hustling and working together to make our clients’ dreams come true in front of the cameras. We will also continue meeting, no matter where in the world we may be physically. And we’ll continue to care about each other, being there through hard times and celebrating good times. We look forward to more baby showers, birthday celebrations and personal milestones.
In 2021 we hope to plan our first company retreat abroad. We might even enlist your help in helping us decide where!
As individuals
We all carry hopes and dreams around with us...you, me, and every person who works at Shoot My Travel. The future is on all our minds, so I asked some of my colleagues what they’re especially looking forward to in 2021. Their answers were so heartwarming and touching, things we can all relate to after the year we’ve been through, that we decided to share them!
“Taking the time to breath and enjoy every single instant of my days, which means not expecting ‘the best moment to…’ but making the moment I have the best one and unforgettable. Also, I’ll try to travel inside my country much more before thinking of going out of Colombia.”

So bring on 2021!
In 2021, we’ll be here for you and all your dreams.
We’ll keep travelling locally but also start to expand our horizons again, safely and slowly. And our amazing photographers will once again be meeting incredible clients, like you, from around the world.
We’ll also take our photography to a new level, expanding our services to ensure we continue to meet all your photography needs. As your dreams get bigger and more specific, so will we. Not just with an easier, more-streamlined booking process (to include “matchmaking!”), but with the technology and talent needed to make those dreams come true, whatever they might look like. Our focus will be on dreamers...like you and like us! So start thinking about those headshots, portraits, social media, and business photos you’ve always wanted. But don’t stop there. 2021 is the year to imagine the life you want, envision it, say it aloud, live it!...and let us photograph it...from homelife to business to all the play in between.
